School of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry, Aizawl Mizoram is set up in the year 1997 as Public Educational Institute to give advanced education to construct vocation in the field of Veterinary Science and Degree.

The College of Veterinary sciences and Animal Husbandry, one of the constituent universities of the CAU was set up through the proclamation of a law (No.
M-2 of 1995;dated twentieth February 1995) and got practical with the affirmation of first cluster of understudies to B V Sc.
and A H degree course in the year 1997.
The College is situated at Selesih, North Aizawl that is around 12 km away from Aizawl, the capital city of MIZORAM, on the Aizawl-Sihphir-Silchar sub-roadway.
The Campus of the College is spread over 168.
61 sections of land of land, generally of uneven territory at a height of 965 meters the ocean level.
The Climate of Aizawl is charming, for the most part cool in summer and not freezing in winter.
The base and most extreme temperature goes from 7o-8oc to 30o-32oc.
It rains vigorously from May to September and the normal yearly precipitation is around 2500 mm.
The locale of the College reaches out to various North Eastern Hill Sates that incorporates the conditions of Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Tripura and Sikkim.
The College has 17(Seventeen) Teaching Departments and a Clinical Veterinary Teaching Complex according to the Minimum Standard For Veterinary Education Regulation-1993 endorsed by the Veterinary Council of India.
