Government Medical College, Kottayam

The school began working in December 1962 as the third government-run clinical school in Kerala.
The school which at first worked in the District Hospital, Kottayam from 1962 to 1970 was moved to Arpookara in April 1970.
In 1975, all clinical offices were moved to the recently built grounds at Arpookara, presently named Gandhinagar.
The exact year, the close by ESI Hospital was taken over to begin the youngsters’ clinic: Institute of Child Health.
Another authoritative B block was begun in 1985.
In 1996, the C block was added which houses the divisions of Pharmacology, Pathology, Microbiology and the Central Library.
The establishment is affirmed by the Medical Council of India (MCI) and is subsidiary to Mahatma Gandhi University.
It was initially subsidiary to Kerala University.
The school offers numerous courses under the UG and PG levels in different fields like Anatomy, Pediatrics, Ophthalmology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, and some more.
The admission to any of the courses is through qualifying the placement test like NEET or AIPMT.
The school has a profoundly regarded personnel and different offices to make its understudies agreeable and assist them with zeroing in on their examinations.
