On eighth July 1916 this school was begun as the Ceded District College (A Second Grade College) with Sri S E Ranganathan as its first Principal.

In the early long stretches of its working, other than the famous Principal, Sri S E Ranganathan, dr. S Radhakrishnan, educator of the instructors, praised the organization by his administration as a part staff.
