Mohindra College, Patiala, is an endowment of H H Maharaja Mohinder Singh (1852-76) of Patiala to his state subjects.
Perhaps the most seasoned foundation in the whole North India, Govt.
Mohindra College, Patiala, is a living landmark of uncommon gloriousness and stunning loftiness.
At the hour of its origin in 1875, it was the main foundation of its sort in a huge territory extending from Lahore to Delhi.
The College was set up to give free training to the state subjects as this area was instructively ruined. His Excellency, The Earl of Northbrook, the then Viceroy of India established the framework stone of the College expanding on 30th March 1875.
The structure was finished in around nine years and His Excellency, Viceroy Lord Ripon played out the Opening Ceremony on seventeenth March, 1884.
Around then the College was associated to the Calcutta University.
The school granted free training to the state subjects until 1937.
