National Institute of Technology Nagaland, an Institute of National significance is an advanced education specialized Institute situated at Chumukedima (Dimapur), Nagaland.
It is one among the ten recently affirmed NITs by the Government of India in 2009 under the eleventh Five Year Plan and it began working from the scholarly year 2010.
At first, this Institute began its excursion under the mentorship of National Institute of Technology Silchar in Assam.
It worked in the grounds of NIT Silchar for a very long time.
Land for lasting grounds was recognized for the Institute during January 2012 and it is situated at a sloping territory zone at Chumukedima close to Dimapur, Nagaland.
The first scholastic meeting of the Institute in quite a while perpetual grounds began on twentieth September 2012.
The place where there is 291 sections of land (which had been initially assigned for the Office of the Deputy Commissioner) was given over by the Government of Nagaland with a couple of structures to NIT Nagaland for the foundation of its perpetual grounds.
The foundation for homerooms, lodgings and eating blocks for Boys and Girls have been made with renovation of the current RCC structures and development of a couple pre-manufactured structures.
Pre-created structures for new study hall blocks, research facilities (Physics, Chemistry, Electrical Machines, Power Systems and so on) and inns have been built.
