dr. B R Ambedkar University, Srikakulam has been set up by Andhra Pradesh State Government G O vide MS No: 89 Higher Education (UE.
II) Department dated 25/06/2008, so as to enlarge the schooling offices in the Srikakulam District and to take into account the instructive necessities of the individuals of the locale.
An arrangement of stretching out advanced education offices to the retrogressive areas of Srikakulam District, Andhra University, with U G C Backing, approached to found two controls viz.
Financial aspects and Rural Development at Post Graduate level in 1977-1978 at Srikakulam in the name and style of Andhra University Post Graduate Extension Center, later as Andhra University dr. B R Ambedkar Post Graduate Center, still later as A U Grounds Etcherla, Srikakulam, and by and by as dr. B R Ambedkar University, Srikakulam.
The State Government authorized 12 extra courses to this Center, of which just four courses, viz.

were really begun from the scholarly year 1988-1989 and two additional courses viz.
M B A furthermore, M L were included the year 1994.
During the scholarly year 2005-2006, M A Training course was begun and in the scholastic year 2006-2007, the University Administration presented M A English, M Sc.
Natural Chemistry and M C A Courses in the grounds.
