College of Agriculture, Palampur

School of Agriculture, Palampur Himachal Pradesh is set up in the year 1966 as Private Educational Institute to give advanced education to fabricate profession in the field of Agriculture.
The College of Agriculture, Palampur was at first settled as a lesser College of Agriculture to provide food the instructive requirements of distant regions of the then Punjab.
It was officially introduced by Late dr. P N  Thapar, ICS (Retd.
), the principal Vice-Chancellor of Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana on 1stAugust, 1966.
The then Deputy Prime Minister of India, Shri Morarji Ranchorji Desai established the framework stone of the school expanding on 23rd may, 1967.
With the revamping of the Punjab on November 1, 1966, the College came in the regional ward of Himachal Pradesh.
All things considered, it stayed working as a section of Punjab Agricultural University till July 21, 1970.
With the commencement of Himachal Pradesh University on July 22, 1970, the College turned into a piece of the Agriculture Complex under the aegis of Himachal Pradesh University which contained the rural universities at Palampur and Solan along with research stations arranged at better places of Himachal Pradesh.
The College accomplished the status of a postgraduate foundation in 1971.
It was a noteworthy occasion when the College of Agriculture, Palampur filled in as the core of HP Krishi Vishvavidyalaya which appeared by an Act of the H P  Vidhan Sabha, (HPKV Act, 1978) and was introduced on November 1, 1978 by Shri Neelam Sanjiva Reddy, the then President of India.
The University was accordingly named as Chaudhary Sarwan Kumar Himachal Pradesh Krishi Vishvavidyalaya (CSKHPKV), Palampur.
