Looking back to the exciting history of the Cochin University College of Engineering Kuttanad (CUCEK), Pulincunnu would conjure a blended inclination in the brain of a CUCEK sweetheart.
The just one of its sort in the region around, it has the ability to develop past a simple Engineering College or a University Department.
Offering four designing under-graduate courses, it has been started under the aegis of the CUSAT on 21st October 1999 as a University own area of expertise outside its principle grounds, in the beautiful land parcel in Pulincunnu, Alappuzha region.
Being officially initiated on 25th of October 1999 within the sight of Syndicate individuals including dr. K C Joseph, the then MLA of Kuttanad and the visionary behind it and Sri.
James K J, the Special Officer of CUCEK, the College started its scholarly exercises in leased structures which had a place with the St. Mary’s ITC, Pulincunnu and the St. Joseph’s HSS, Pulincunnu.
There were 192 understudies in four B Tech branches, Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Information Technology and Mechanical Engineering in the principal bunch (1999-2003).
The employees were deputed from the Center for Undergraduate Studies in Engineering (presently, the School of Engineering), CUSAT and enrolled on agreement premise.
The experience and direction from huge numbers of the senior employees profited the understudy and junior staff network of the College.
