City College, Kolkata West Bengal is set up in the year 1881 as Government Educational Institute to give advanced education to fabricate profession in the field of Humanities, Science and Commerce.
City College is having Affiliation with presumed NAAC
The board of City College, Kolkata is working under Sri.
Premamoy Das (Chairman).
In 1883 following two years a Law Department instructing up to the B L standard was added to it.
; and in 1884 it was raised to a first-grade school.
Constantly 1920, the school was planning understudies for the B A assessment in English, Sanskrit, Political Economy and Political Philosophy, History and Persian and furthermore for the B Sc.
assessment in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.
In 1939 a Commerce Department was opened and accomplished the situation of the greatest school in Asia.
This was trailed by the introduction of the Women’s Department in 1943.
In the year 1961 the parts of the City College arose as discrete schools under guidelines of the University Grants Commission.

City College from its humble beginning has developed into a powerful establishment during these 125 years.
At present it has a quality of almost 3000 understudies.
