Asansol Girls College, Burdwan West Bengal is set up in the year 1950 as Public Educational Institute to give advanced education to assemble profession in the field of Humanities, Science and Computer Applications.
Asansol Girls College is having Affiliation with rumored NAAC-A.
The board of Asansol Girls College, Burdwan is working under Sri Moloy Ghatak (President).
,Asansol Girls’ College was established generally because of untiring endeavors of dr. Lalit Mohan Sen, the then C S O, Mines Board of Health and his commendable spouse smt. Kamala Sen.
It was set up in 1950, when in this coalfield locale, there was no advanced education place just for ladies.
From a modest start as an Intermediate College, exceptionally soon in 1957-58, it was moved up to a Degree College.
Because of its standing as a scholastic community, the West Bengal Government remembered it as a Government Sponsored College in 1956.
The start of this school was in the premises of the Manimala Girls’ High School.
In 1962 the school was moved to the current structure.
The school owes an incredible obligation to Late dr. Anjali Roy, a devoted educationist and head of this school, who sustained it from its immaturity to a lofty establishment.
To fulfill the expanding need for advanced education of the young lady understudies of this mechanical belt a Morning Section with B A furthermore, B Com.
Courses were opened. This school has just commended its Golden Jubilee in the year 2000.
At present the school has an understudy strength of around 2,000.
